Adult Classes
9:30am in several room locations
You are invited to take part in these adult gatherings:
- "Pictionary for the Lectionary" — Led by Dr. Chalker, this class meets in the Yoder Room on the Main Floor. It includes a lively discussion of the Bible passages to be read in the morning's worship service. In these times when the teachings of organized religion are both embraced and challenged, this class offers factual insight into daily life during Biblical times, enabling a better understanding of why Jesus said and did what he did. This historical approach to interpreting scripture offers a wider perspective of Jesus' time and lets his words and actions come alive in new and real ways.
- Adults in Action — This group of adults, especially those between 25 and 45, focuses on 1) outreach projects and service to the local community, 2) spiritual enrichment activities and 3) social events. Check the list of current events or the worship service bulletin, or contact the church office for more information.
- MENS "Community Speaks" Forum (as scheduled) — Every three months our Men Engaged in Needed Services (MENS) group sponsors a forum featuring a noted public figure as its speaker; the forums are open to everyone. Check this site or the bulletin, newsletter or church office for upcoming forums.
Adult Bible Class – Led by Joe Jones, this group meets in the Library on the Main Floor to promote Christian education through personal reading of the Bible.
Women's Sabbath – This exciting experience provides an opportunity for women to explore and share their spiritual journeys, deepen understanding and develop new ways to live out the message of faith. Various study materials are used as a springboard for lively discussion and are sent via email prior to each gathering. Women’s Sabbath meets the second Sunday of the month, September through May, at 9:30 am at the church. In the spring of the year, Women’s Sabbath sponsors a retreat open to all women in the community. Women of all ages are invited to participate, to bring a friend and make new friends.
